Our Team

Our project leaders combine background in research, business development and marketing.

This is why the senior team at SigmaRM doesn't just oversee the project, they actually do the work, design the project, are part of the interviewing team, interpret the results and present the findings.

When working with new clients, we always begin by obtaining as much understanding about client's business, its strategic objectives and issues at hand.

We discuss options and prepare detailed proposals, which fully reflect the brief and identify project stages with associated time scales and costs.

Ed Zapata

Is the Managing Director of SigmaRM and has worked in the building materials and construction industry for over 40 years. He has gained at experience at senior levels in marketing, market research and product development both in the UK and internationally. Prior to setting up SigmaRM he worked at Hanson where he lead market research and development projects covering aggregates, cement, bricks, concrete products and a wide range of other building materials. Previous market research experience was also gained at Unigate/ ST Ivel where he was responsible for managing market research budget for just under £1m and with Lucas electrical again responsible for market research. With this background as a research client, Ed set up SigmaRM in 1994 determined to provide cost effective and tangible value insights, in order to help clients fully understand their customers, markets and brands.

Carrie

Is a research professional with over 15 years experience in the construction industry and has driven our development of online research. Her skills range from the management of large quantitative studies to arranging focus groups. She has a strong research experience and has built good relationships with our retail, distribution and building product manufacturing clients.

Becky

Is an experienced quantitative and qualitative researcher in the building sector . Her knowledge of the sector means she can add value at all the stages of the research process. She has many years of experience in interviewing architects, structural engineers, contractors, trade specialists, as well as other specifies and end users. She also co-ordinates with our external team of interviewers.

John

Is a construction experienced researcher, has extensive knowledge of the building product sector. In addition to managing projects is responsible for the IT, including  checking data, scripts and reports.

Andy

 Is an experienced researcher who now helps in the delivery of both qualitative and quantitative research projects. He has a wide experience in telephone interviewing based projects.

External researchers

We work closely with a number of qualified researchers with years of industry experience in the sector who are employed for face to face, telephone or mystery shopping projects.

They are selected on the basis of their specific product or market knowledge and their ability to 'talk the same language' as the research respondents. This enables them to  engage fully and gain as much insight as possible.
